4. Data collection on this website

Cookies

Our internet pages use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (persistent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted after the end of your visit. Persistent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or an automatic deletion is carried out by your web browser.

Cookies may originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services of third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies have various functions. Numerous cookies are technically necessary, since certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies may be used to evaluate user behaviour or for advertising purposes.

Cookies which are necessary to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions desired by you (e.g. for the shopping cart function) or to optimise the website (e.g. cookies to measure the web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Insofar as consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG); the consent can be withdrawn at any time.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

You can find out which cookies and services are used on this website in this privacy policy.

Enquiry by email, telephone or fax

If you contact us by email, telephone or fax, your enquiry including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR, insofar as your enquiry is connected with the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of the enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR) insofar as this has been requested; the consent can be withdrawn at any time.

The data which you have sent to us via contact enquiries will remain with us until you request us to delete it, withdraw your consent to its storage or the purpose for the data storage ceases to apply (e.g. after your request has been completed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

Online enquiry form (bicycle rental)

On our website we offer an online form via which you can submit a non-binding enquiry for our bicycle rental. If you use this form, the data which you enter (in particular name, contact details and the details of your desired rental such as period, type of bicycle and accessories) is processed for the purpose of handling your enquiry and preparing a possible rental contract.

The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (implementation of pre-contractual measures or performance of a contract). The provision of the data marked as mandatory fields is necessary for the handling of your enquiry; without this information we cannot process your enquiry.

To store and process the inquiry data, we use an externally hosted database from the provider Neon Inc. (serverless PostgreSQL service) with a server location in the European Union (Frankfurt am Main). To send the inquiry and confirmation emails, we use the email service provider Resend, Inc. We have data processing agreements with these service providers pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR; they process the data exclusively in accordance with our instructions. Insofar as a transfer to a third country (e.g. USA) takes place, this is safeguarded by appropriate guarantees (standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission).

We store the data collected in the course of an enquiry until the purpose for the storage ceases to apply (e.g. after your enquiry has been completed or after the termination of a rental relationship arising from it). Mandatory statutory retention periods – in particular commercial and tax law periods – remain unaffected.

Origin/source identification via QR codes

If you access our rental page via a QR code (e.g. of a partner hotel or one of our display stands), we store the source identifier contained therein locally in your browser (localStorage) in order to be able to attribute a later rental enquiry to the correct source. No cookies are set in this process and no data is transmitted to third parties.

Only a short source identifier and the time of access are stored; this information is automatically deleted after 30 days. The processing serves the evaluation of our advertising channels and is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in measuring the success of our rental partnerships).

You can prevent or undo this storage at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or by using your browser's private mode.
